Muse @ the End is rated 4.7 out of 5 stars, based on 132 reviews!
Delicious, fast service, and diverse menu selection. We had the grilled octopus, salmon, and cauliflower. Each dish was better than the last. Very limited dessert and beer selection, but there was plenty of wine for every palette.
Dropping a star for COVID safety only. There was outdoor seating with heaters, but no one inside was wearing a mask. We watched as 7+ people were clustered around the bar maskless while the bartender's only protection was 3 ft of counter. Really disappointing to see, hope you are able to make a safer situation for your employees as long as this pandemic lasts.
I have been going to Montauk for over 40 years & this restaurant is a must. The food was delicious-Grilled Octopus, Chimichurri Skirt Steak, Salmon Scallopini & the Zeppoles are fantastic. If you can request to be sat in Francesco's section, you'll have one of the best dining experiences. The entire ambiance-indoor & outdoor-is amazing.
The menu and service were beyond my expectations. We really liked the vibes of this spot. Awesome spot to take the family out for lunch.
Great steak
Hands down best place in montauk. Been here few days and tried about every local place and this one was my favorite. Not only is food impeccable but service is even better. Bartender Jonathan is a true craftsman. He knew his wines inside out, got a feel for what I liked and recommeded accordingly. Bathrooms are clean and indoor seating available. Would def return!! A+++ . Thanks Jonathan you are our main reason for returning.
The food is truly spectacular. The service is unmatched. This is a gem! You need to come here and give them your loyal service. I can't say enough good things about this place. Compliments in every category. 11/10!!
The best dinner I’ve had in the Hamptons...from start to finish it is a dining experience that reminds me of a Michelin star restaurant... the grilled octopus is definitely an appetizer you can’t leave without trying.
Super good drinks and food, loved the grilled octopus and it was my first time having a lobster roll and mussles, was very impressed.
The apple butter porkchop wasent to my taste but I felt the pork was a bit over cooked.
We love to eat at Muse when we come to Montauk. Some of the best food out there. The octopus was the most tender I've ever had. Can't wait to come back!
Great place for seating when everything else is full good taste very pricy but it's Montauk so it's all good
This site is my number one place. Of all restaurants I know I like it most. I always suggests to my friends to go to visit this restaurant. when I I need a proper lunch, this place comes straight to my head. fresh and food and a large menu.generous staff, and agreeable vibes. In addition to that, the expence is good. I sent my friends to this place with no doubt.
We ordered take out today, food was great and the staff was super nice. I strongly recommend
Really great food, nice staff, good drinks, friendly atmosphere. You can't go wrong with this one.
Very fresh. Creative. Nice combination. Good service. Will be back.
Nice ambience, good food, great service, little pricey. We tried the small plates, they were pretty good.
Finally made it to Muse in MTK after summers and summers saying maybe later. Boy, was that a mistake! This place is great! Soft lighting, live music on Saturdays, reasonable seafood-forward menu, casual vibe, pretty bar, great service. We had the mussels, butternut squash appy, lamb meatballs and some really nice Pinot Noirs by the glass. A perfect light bite with a wonderful singer who looked like Nellie Furtado and sounded like Jewel. Definitely will not be passing this one by wver again!
Fabulous meal every time we have been abs and drinks are great. My kids also love this place and they are 4 and 6
Excellent spot to have something when in a hurry. The service is speedy, rates are reasonable, good ambience. Will come back again
Jill who was our host was absolutely incredible and accommodating! I rushed out to montauk and met my friends at Muse after they had already sat. Jill was able to accommodate us and move our group to a larger table! Our server Liz was hilarious, fun and knowledgeable! We had an amazing dinner and a fantastic experience! This was our first time dining here and I can't wait to come back already! Thank you again Jill and Liz!
Creative menu, delicious food, and good value. Nice dining space, friendly servicel. Will return assp!
Veggie burger for the win! A lot of choices offered here and the food is GREAT. By far top tier restaurant in Montauk. I was very pleased by the staff as well. Awesome!!
Absolutely incredible. I didn't think this place would top any meal I've had here in montauk until just now. The staff are so well mannered and they are always checking to make sure you are ok. The food was just out of this world. If I could eat here every night I would. Definitely recommend. I am extremely picky and have been holding off on this place for months because of the reviews I've seen. Do not hold off!!! Too good to pass up.
Great place! Diverse menu, with a mix of traditional plates and inventive options. Additionally, the ambiance is great - elegant enough that you really feel you're enjoying an evening out, but casual enough to not be stuffy and encourage diners to relax. Also, super attentive and friendly wait staff. We highly recommend!
We came here here with a big group of 10+. The service was great, especially considering we were such a big group.
I loved the food. I got the Tuna Pok and the Gorgonzola strip steak. Both were very flavorful. The potatoes that came with the steak were some of the best I've ever had. Also the bread that came before the meals came with two kinds of butter, one of which was tomato based. I'm not even that big of a fan of tomato, but it was delicious.
I very much appreciated the ambiance of the place. We were in the side room. However, I saw the bar in the other room and it's quite a cool looking bar. There was live music in the bar as well and they seemed like quite the talented musicians playing.
What a great place! Warm, welcoming, fun. Delicious food. Live music. Lively bar. The best bartender John! He really takes care of his customers. Highly recommend The Muse when you visit Montauk. See you there!
The Muse is a great place to eat and drink.
Great food, great music and a great bartender John. He makes you feel like he's your personnel bartender. You have to try their fish tacos and BLT salad - one of a kind. Cheers!!!
Great food and great service. Ambience laid back and very chill. Perfect spot to come to on the off-season for a nice romantic experience. Love the couches in the back. Best zeppoles around. Had a nice cinnamon coat in the bag and caramel, chocolate and raspberry for a dip.
Enjoyed romantic dinner. Came early and vibe was great. Food is yummy, service good. Would return.
Really nice place! Beautiful atmosphere. The food was good. The staff was very sweet. Make sure you have a reservation bc on the weekends it's busy and if we didn't have a reservation we would have had to sit at the bar. They also had live music which was kind of annoying to speak over. But that's our fault for not knowing. The music was good though!! Very nice place for a date. (:
My husband and I went to our first anniversary date tonight. We booked it on Open Table which asks if you are celebrating anything when you book a reservation. I wrote our anniversary and right away after we were sat (we didn't have a wait at all) the really sweet hostess brought us 2 glasses of champagne. The service was great from start to finish. We shared the arancini and the corn and jalapeo fritters and I had the BLT chopped salad. My husband had the burger with sweet potato fries. Our food was amazing. Ambiance amazing. Service -super attentive and amazing while still giving enough space and time! After, we had a night cap at the bar and the bartender Jill was really cool. She shared a few drink recipes and interesting liquor choices with us as well as good convo! We plan to return for sure!
I had the most wonderful Tuesday evening at the Muse bar! The bartender, Jeffrey, not only provided great service, but he was super friendly and helpful. He had great recommendations for dinner and fantastic suggestions for wine and beer choices, too. As tourists from the west coast, we especially appreciated Jeffrey's willingness to answer our questions and inform us about local history, sights, and activities!
This place is totally amazing! Jill, the manager, filled in as an server (one short due to an emergency) and was so attentive and friendly!
The Tile fish special was delicious. Truly the Montauk Hot Spot!
A nice spot that was nice and quiet out of season. Staff was friendly, particularly Jill the hostess. Our dinner was cooked very well, my only issue is $50+ for a steak was a little outrageous. But hey, that's Montauk for you I suppose. They forgot to put in one of my sides, and when I mentioned it they apologized profusely. It definitely wasn't the end of the world, I just wanted to make sure we weren't charged for it. They ended up comping that item and giving it to me in a to-go bag which made for a great late night snack. Overall, next time I'm in town I'll likely visit again.
We just went last night and it was wonderful for so many reasons. The food was excellent- each dish was simply delicious. The musician kept our daughter dancing the whole night long. But what really stood out over everything was how incredible the staff was from beginning to end! We had our 2 young children with us and everyone was so warm, friendly, attentive and just fabulous. My husband and I have not stopped saying how incredible everyone was. We will definitely be back!
Very impressed by this place. Great food, great service, great ambiance. Had the cauliflower rice with veggies and sweet potato fries. The cauliflower tempura was also very good. One of the more pricey restaurants in montauk, but food is quality and service is great. Highly recommend this place.
Great place right in town . Very friendly staff and helpful . Delicious food , nice presentation. If you are looking for a nice place to eat with great food definitely go to Muse .
From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, the service was epic. Greeted warmly by the genial hostess, we were seated straightaway and offered an expansive 4 top near the window, awarding us a front row seat to the ensuing dramatic storm outside.
The FOH staff was brisk and attentive, with warm, sincere manners that made my partner and I feel very comfortable right away. The restaurant didn't have the homey feel I often favor in restaurants (somewhere I can let my hair down) but it was decorated smartly (my partner and I disagreed about the led bar) clean and neat as a pin.
Everything was perfect, from the linen to the smallware and it made us feel that we were dining in capable hands.
The wine list (I'm in the business) was broad, well appointed and quite nice, albeit a bit safe.
We started with cocktails on my partner's suggestion, and both the Watermelon Cucumber Martini and the Mint Julep were right on the money, another good sign.
Apps were Cauliflower Fritti and Street Corn Fritters. My first fritter, disappointingly, was ice cold in the middle, intimating that they were perhaps previously frozen, but still, really tasty and quite fresh, so even if they were frozen I suspect they are made on premise and thoughtfully so. Cauliflower: A+
My main was Diver Scallops on a bed of Pea and Parmesan Risotto and garnished w/ fresh pea shoots. The Scallops were prepared (seared) quite nicely. Risotto was flavorful and well textured, a great pairing for the seriously fresh scallops, in turn pairing well with a glass of local Chardonnay.
My partner had a magnificently dressed and composed beet and parm salad and a side of the Risotto. She enjoyed both immensely
We ordered chocolate Mousse for dessert. It was my partner's birthday and without me having to ask they bought out the plate with HBD written on it in chocolate and a candle, very thoughtful and sweet. Overall, I recommend this place for couples or groups of adults who are looking for a crowd-pleaser w/ impeccable quality, stellar service and solid options.
We'll be back if they'll have us.
My husband and I went to the Muse Sept 5. We had the beet salad, pork chops and ahi tuna. Very nice presentation and the food was delicious. We will definitely be back again.
this is a super cute place with very friendly staff and a nice, modern, and clean atmosphere. The menu had many great dishes with a twist that my whole family enjoyed. I highly recommend the tuna poke and the salmon scallopini, and I'd certainly come back next time I'm in montauk
We came here Sat night with no reservations... she said the wait would be 30 min for a table in the dining room but we were fine with a high table in the bar. It was great atmosphere at 9pm and there is parking out front. We had Joe the bartender serve us, curly hair guy, who was super nice. He gave us great recommendations. The salmon with the vegetable ratatouille and whipped potatoes were amazing. Hubbie got Chicken with the salad entre (forgot the name) but he said that was one of the best salads he ever had. I ordered the cheesecake for dessert- it was to die for! Joe recommended it too. Hubbie got "Too Much Chocolate" for dessert - it was good but I must say the cheesecake was even better!
Had another wonderful dinner at the Muse. Was able to sit outside on a beautiful evening in Montauk. Food excellent and service (Abby) was great. Attentive but not rushed. Great place for date night. Highly recommend.
The staff was amazing. They knew that a large party was going to be seated near us so they moved us so we wouldn't be bothered by them. Our appetizers were excellent and plentiful. Coming in first place by all at the table were the Mexican street corn poppers, so flavorful with just the right amount of spice. Next was a tie between the pork belly skewers and the Asiago & Chorizo ARANCINI. The watermelon salad with arugula and feta was also very tasty. The pork chop was delicious and was quickly devoured by my son. The tuna poke was also very good. My other son had a cheese burger that was prepared to his liking with nothing on it. The chicken panzanella was delicious yet there was not enough chicken on the plate. Overall a great meal with wonderful flavors.
Ate hear last night. Excellent seafood, pleasant decor, and perfect service. Gabrielle was our waitress, pleasant and showed up enough without going overboard.
A refreshing place to the Montauk scene.
Great happy hour and friendly staff. We had the oysters ($1 each) and cauliflower fritto and both were excellent. We didn't stay for the price fixed meal but it looked good and I liked the idea.
This place is much more reasonable than other local restaurants and just as good if not better.
Great atmosphere, staff, and delicious food!!!
Their food is sensational, the service is exceptional, warm and friendly and their dessert is just beyond! I highly recommend visiting Muse whenever you're in the area...
The service - excellent
The food - superb
The dessert - divine
The atmosphere - friendly, sweet
Would absolutely come back any time I’m in Montauk!!!
Friendly staff, very nice decor and fun drinks. Pretty good menu but don't ask for any deviation from the menu or to add, exchange or subtract a side on any main course. This is the Land of No. I'm sure that makes for an easier and faster flow in the kitchen but it's annoying.
Went on a Wednesday evening in July for 5:30. Gorgeous interior. Outstanding and attentive staff. Menu excellent offerings. I had generous and delicious striped bass, cooked perfectly while the others loved their chicken dishes, so generous that they each needed take home bags. Salads and key lime dessert, wine and draft beer selection all complemented a most enjoyable evening out in Montauk! Strongly recommend.
We walked in without a booking and were welcomed (party of 3) and given a table without delay even though they were very busy. Our waitress - I don't remember her name - from Mexico City was so friendly and helpful and even helped me decide what I should have as I couldn't decide!
I had tile fish which was the catch of the day. My wife had chicken parmigiana and my son had a burger. All of us loved what we had and enjoyed the atmosphere in the place. We'd definitely go back there.
Happy Hour Drinks and $1 oysters
Came here to check out the happy hour specials. They do happy hour Monday to Friday 5:30-6:30 which includes the $1 oysters, $4 drafts beers, discounted appetizers. We ended up ordering the twin forks draft oysters and wings all of which were fantastic. We were seated in the bar section of the restaurant which is divided from the main dining room. The bar tenders were awesome about coming around to the tables and getting orders in fast to get in under the end of the happy hour. We will definitely be back. Finding a happy hour like this especially in montauk during the summer is a gold mine.
This was a fantastic find. The staff was genuine, pleasant, and laser focused on making sure we were taken care of. The food was beyond first rate; have not been spirited away by a meal like this in years. This is an amazing, funky-cool restaurant that everyone should experience. Sooooooo good. I only wish I could have taken them up on the offer to work there so I could experience it every night.
This was an amazing find. Great staff, FANTASTIC food, awesome atmosphere. I cannot recommend It enough. Run, don’t wak if you’re within 50 miles. You won’t be disappointed; you’ll be in love.
We have been to Muse 3x and it is now are favorite restaurant in Montauk. The food is great and the service is excellent! We plan on making Muse our go to restaurant. We went on Saturday and they had a band playing in the bar area, it was a great nite with our family. Highly recommend going to Muse!
Came here the weekend before MDW and the place was pretty full. The food, as seems to be the case with most restaurants in Montauk, was tasty but did not blow my mind. Service was excellent. Ambience was laid back. Could be more romantic if the lighting was dimmer in the dining area.
The food was very nice, but the service was exceptional.
Birthday day away at Montauk. Great find... food was great, everyone was friendly and welcoming. ?
The food was very good, service the same. Had a great time. We’ll be back
I loved this place! Visited off-season and place was packed on a Saturday. You need a reservation to get a table, we didn't have one and was waiting near bar. People there are very nice, got us a table pretty quickly anyway. Enjoyed the live band and delish food! Friends had the fish tacos and I had the tuna poke which was amazing!!
Ok, we came here from Gurney's because we wanted a night out away from the resort. It was recommended by a few people so we took a chance.
It was Xmas Eve Eve, and so out of season it's more quiet, but the bar was full and the restaurant was quiet which was a nice contrast.
The food was great, the service was personable, and the ambiance romantic. Menu was also very reasonably priced given the remote location (Montauk is the far east end of Long Island). There is also a fixed price 3 course option for those weekday diner who arrive before 6:30
It will be nice to see what this is like in the summer, but for a couple seeking a winter beach-side getaway, it's a must visit spot for dinner or brunch.
Had dinner with the family at 6:30 PM this past Sat 2/3/18. Looked crowded at first but we were greeted and seated right away. Most of the people were at the bar although the dining floor was pretty busy. I had the Catch of the Day which was the codfish. The portion size was nice and it was prepared perfectly. I really enjoyed it. The family had the salmon and tuna poke. They enjoyed all the dishes and the service here was spot on! Great beer recommendation as well. This is the second time we have dined at this MUSE location and we have a wonderful experience. We will plan on returning. Nice job!

I came here with my family on a Saturday night in November. The place was pretty busy for an off season weekend, but there were a few tables still available for us to slip into. The hostess was very nice and the inside of the place is very nicely done (it appears to be recently renovated). I had the shrimp and grits appetizer and the lobster bisque. Both were fantastic. I ended up trying a little of my family members food (the bolognese and a salad) because I foolishly thought I could limit my dinner to soup and an appetizer. Both were good. For a drink I had the jalapeo margarita. It had just the right amount of spice. Almost forgot my favorite part, they came around with hot bread and butter, oil and some sort of roasted red pepper spread that was out of this world!
Went there with family while on a trip to Montauk and were pleasantly pleased with the food and the ambience. Great presentation and taste.. the grilled salmon I ordered was delicious.. would visit again..
What a great meal! Everything was so great, awesome staff. Thanks to Abby and Kevin for the great entertainment and including our daughter. We would highly recommend the Muse!
Amazing food, an establishment with a great staff (rare find in Montauk) and definitely recommend the figtini. We will be coming back every season!
We've eaten there our last two overnights in Montauk. Great food! Recommended.
Great food and great service, simple as that. Eggplant parm on Italian night was FANTASTIC.
Had a great dinner here l. The food was great and so was the staff.
It was our 30 anniversary and they gave us our deserts on the house.
We both had the chicken piccatta.
We were staying at a hotel nearby and I found this place on yelp. $1 oysters?! We came in, ordered 4 dozen and completely wiped them out. We weren't very full, so we ordered Mussels a la Muse, which consisted of Prince Edward Island mussels in a prosecco butter sauce with grilled artichoke hearts, cured tomatoes and giganta beans with grilled Italian bread. I loved this dish but it could've had a little more broth so we could sop up with the bread. We also ordered a few glasses of prosecco and an ale to wash it all down, and chocolate mousse for dessert. Service was wonderful and it was a nice and relaxing setting. They also have a live band when we were there. All in all, great little spot to eat at in Montauk.
Loved this place! I was recently in Montauk for a bachelorette party and we wanted a fancy sit down dinner for Saturday night. This place definitely fit the bill. A little pricey, but the food was delicious and we loved the atmosphere. I got the mussels for my meal and they were very fresh. The waitress was friendly and attentive. I would definitely return. My only recommendation would be to request outdoor seating in advance. We didn't realize and ended up inside on a beautiful night. They kept all the windows/doors open though so we did get a nice breeze.
Service was refreshingly on point and polite. Meals and appetizers were excellent. Seems like Tuna Poke has become a very common menu item as of late, but Muse executes it sublimely. Not certain I agree with the kid friendly comments - I'd probably leave them with the sitter for this place.
Excellent dinner with my wife during our stay in Montauk (Aug 2017). For starters, the table was held for our reservation and they even called to confirm.
We were greeted with smiles and a warm, comforting ambiance in the dining room. Gabby was very attentive with our bottle of wine, and got us apps quickly. The Tuna sliders (recommended) were fantastic and it was the perfect amount of food to get going. The steak Entre was phenomenal (we shared it). Gabby was pleasant and very respectful that we didn't want to rush our entre while we enjoyed the wine and we really appreciated her still checking in often to make sure we were all set. I really liked how the dining room was sectioned off from the bar for some separation from the live music they had that evening.
One of the managers (Jessica) stopped by and checked to make sure we were enjoying as well. We had a nice casual chat about the local restaurant scene and she politely greeted us on our way out. I don't know why the reviews on this establishment were so negative about the food, service, and staff. I am so glad I kept the reservation and enjoyed the dinner here with my wife.
The frozen yogurt bar next door for dessert was also a great finishing touch!
Our ideal place is somewhere that has great food and stuff our kids would like. We sat in the bar on a high top with our kids during the dinner rush. It was perfect. My husband and I ordered a bunch of apps. Great appetizers, enough choices for the kids, Delicious rum punch! Will definitely be returning next year!
Not only is the inside of the restaurant absolutely stunning, their food is excellent too. We had their special appetizer, a few Bloody Mary's and a Cosmo and a variety of different entrees. I ordered the salmon, it was delicious but I wasn't crazy about the flavor of the brussel sprout and bean side on that dish. Other than that, everyone seemed more than satisfied with their meals.
Food was excellent. Cute atmosphere, live music. Top notch. Would definetly come back
The food was great. Our waitress was so sweet and accommodating. The only reason this place didn't get a higher score was because my drink was weird tasting. I ordered a titos martini but for some reason it tasted really fruity. Also pretty overpriced in terms of the food and in comparison to some of the other restaurants in montauk that have way better locations (on the water) and with incredible food.
This was an excellent dining experience which encompassed both service and food. The dining room is nicely done. My only critique is that the table cloths should have been steamed before setting. Our server was very attentive and didn't miss a step. The food was beautifully prepared and quite delicious. It is well worth the expense.
My Gf and I had an amazing dinner with wonderful service. Got the swordfish which was cooked perfectly and so fresh. Can't wait to go back again!
Liked the food. Liked the atmosphere. Liked that I could dine in shorts and flipflops. Liked our waiter.
Had dinner here. Made a reservation on Open table. Had a table near the front door- it was ok.
Live music in the bar area which looked fun.
The service was very prompt and dinner was served quickly. Had a Wolffer Estates Rose that was lovely. My husband had the scallop mac n cheese and the swordfish- he really enjoyed his meal.
I had the mussels- they were tasty but I've had better. For dinner I had the grilled salmon also good but not great- a little over cooked.
The desserts look yummy but we passed.
The service, food, and atmosphere were fantastic! Definitely recommend this place. I went here as a celebration dinner with my boyfriend and his family and shared the shashito peppers, bacon, and pot pie soup. All were really flavorful and delicious, particularly the bacon dish. My boyfriend and I split the scallops and butternut squash ravioli and the steak. They were both perfect. I highly recommend the steak. I also was able to have a bite of the sashimi and the cod dishes and will be ordering the sashimi next time! The service was kind and great and the restaurant itself has pretty lighting and fun art. Check it out!
I took my wife to dinner last night and we had a great time. Service was great and food was delicious. They had an issue with their seltzer tap so they brought us a bottle of sparkling water on ice and charged the same as if I ordered a glass of seltzer. They know how to run a restaurant and take care of their guests. We will definitely return when we come back out to Montauk.
This restaurant is great. We had the osso buco and the scallops. The first one was excellent, good presentation and great taste. The scallops was good too but the quantity was a little low for a $40 plate. We shared a chocolate mousse for dessert that was amazing. The service was also very good and especially fast. I highly recommend this place.
Another Amazing dinner food was great presentation was great the staff was great again
Our second visit and it was fantastic. My husband tried the meatball for his appetizer and it was delicious. I did a repeat on the watermelon and arugula salad and was not disappointed. Had a simply grilled piece of tuna that was like butter. Melted in my mouth. My husband had the cod and was very pleased. Really nice room and pleasant atmosphere. Could not help but to notice how other diners reacted when tasting their food. WOW was heard from a few tables. WOW, a great addition to the Montauk dining scene. Highly recommend.
The food here is so good. We had the apple salad which is presented beautifully and tastes just as good. The watermelon salad and the tuna appetizer is also excellent. The pork entree and the tuna entree are amazing. The tuna is served with a carrot pure which is unexpected but something I will now try and recreate. Have the Zeppoli for dessert, they come with dipping sauces and you will be hooked from your first bite. We have eaten here several times and the staff and food never disappoints.
We've been coming to Muse for years and happy to see they expanded to Montauk this summer. The vibe is comfortable and Ben was great to us. The tuna 3 ways has always been our favorite app!
Our large party was very kindly accommodated last minute by a friendly staff at muse on a busy weekend when our previously arranged plans had fallen through (which turned out to be a blessing in disguise!). The food was outstanding, probably the best seafood I have ever tasted. Between the Salmon, Ahi tuna and sea bass everyone found their meals delicious and cooked perfectly and served steaming hot which was impressive for a party of 9. The cocktails were wonderful too. The owners son also walked around checking on customers and saying hello which I found a very nice personal touch. Its the first place I will stop when Im next in Montauk!
Absolutely fantastic. From the minute you walk in the experience is fabulous. The staff is extremely friendly, nice and helpful. The food is incredible. The portion sizes are such that after having the wonderful scallop mac'n cheese appetizer I could not finish my very flavorful pork dish. My friend had salmon that she said was delicious. I am only sorry we could not eat dessert because many items looked yummy. Even the rolls were crusty and came with a sun dried tomato spread that was great. Someone said they were expensive, and they are not cheap, but it is worth it and you get plenty of food for the money.
First, let me say that the service and the dcor earned the 5 stars. I did not have a reservation but my guest and I were immediately ushered to one of the last open tables in the newly renovated, perfectly clean, and enchanting dining room. Our server, Virginia, was knowledgeable about the specials and the menu. She also had an effortless serenity about her that made me feel like a welcome guest, which was incredible considering she had a full section. The food was delicious. The bread and spreads were so good that, if it were socially acceptable, I would have demanded more and simply ordered one appetizer. I was able to try the Mussels a la Muse, the Scallop Mac~n~Cheese, and the Pork Chops and Apple Sauce. My dinner date and I agreed that the pork chops were unlike any other--they were so tender and soft that we hardly believed them to be pork chops. The Mac~n~Cheese was heavenly for the first few bites. Unfortunately, it fell into the "too rich" category pretty quickly. I loved the artichoke hearts in the scallops; however, the giganta beans and shaved parmesan felt out of place. I was peaking at other tables' plates as they came out. The presentation of everything was lovely. I am disappointed that I did not get to try the Tuna "Menage A Trois" appetizer. I'll definitely be back for that. Kevin, the general manager, checked in with my guest and me to see how we were doing. I always love when a manager does that. It goes to show that mission of the restaurant is to make sure that everyone feels at home. Kevin clearly embodies this mission and impresses it on his staff. Well done! I can't wait to go back to try other dishes, cocktails, and desserts!
Sat outside on a lovely evening ....excellent friendly attentive service.....good bread...good salad.......good wine...excellent grilled swordfish. ...fresh local Bass....lovely ambiance....would come back....Really nice time.
Our party of four ate here on our last night of our week in Montauk, and this was our favorite place all week. When we arrived at 6:30 on a weeknight, we were practically the only ones there, but it did get more full later on. The menu is a bit pricey, but we all got the price fixe and that was truly a bargain. I had the cod chowder, the pork chops, and the vanilla bean ice cream, all of which were awesome. The others in my party had the salad (HUGE!) or the lamb meatball for appetizers, the vegetarian or the salmon for main dish, and the zeppolis or sorbet for dessert. My sister and I had martinis, and my sister-in-law had a sprite which they put in a nice mason jar. We all loved everything. The staff was very attentive and friendly. We did hear that they would be doing away with the price fixe during the summer season, and IMHO that would be a big mistake. Hope to come back here when we visit again next summer!
Keeping it short and simple! Next summer you won't be able to get into this place. Amazing food, atmosphere, and staff. The bartender remembered what we ordered the 2nd time back and the manager Kevin is on top of this place. Whether dinner or brunch, experience this place while you can. Absolutely fantastic!!
FYI- I created a Yelp account just to give this place a top review since it was so deserving. Leave room for desert!! See you at the Muse...
Went here this past weekend and had a great time! From the great wait staff, to the delicious food this; restaurant doesn't settle in the off season. Although they were out of a few drinks me and my fianc had selected the waitress and bartender made it a point to accompany us. The food was out of this world. A lot of the restaurants in town aren't up to par as they maybe in the summer months but muse's food was mouth watering. My fianc and I have been talking about it for the past 3 days. If you want a great atmosphere paired with great food and exceptional service this place is the right choice for you!
Great service. Waitress was friendly and hospitable as were the other staffers. I had the blt salad and it was as good a salad as I've ever had. The salad, as well as the entrees had unique and interesting presentations. But mainly the salad (and entrees for that matter) tasted great (and thats really the point, isnt it?). I also had the jerk striped bass and it was presented beautifully and again, tasted great. My wife got the grilled salmon and she raved about it, I took a taste and immediately agreed. This time in Montauk has been a bit disappointing food wise, but Muse saved the day.
Perfect addition to Montauk...Last minute decision to go during our off-season weekend and what a GREAT decision it was! Food was delicious (I had short rib and BF had Ahi Tuna). Waitress was great with recommendations, place is adorable - perfect mix of romantic and fun. Will DEFINITELY be back!
Fantastic food and service. COD and seared scallops were super tasty. Lamb meatball and crab cake were wonderful. Kids had chicken fingers which were extremely good. Wonderful decor and well lit inside. Highly recommend.
Food was excellent. Scallop Mac and cheese might be best appetizer in all of Montauk. Service was fast and wait time was perfect between courses. I highly recommend it.
Love this place and keep coming back. The wait staff is super accommodating without being overbearing (special shout out to Jessica from last Saturday night). The food is great. There isn't anything I wouldn't recommend. Definitely a place to check out if you are in Montauk.
My husband and I went to Muse last night. It was one of the best meals we've ever had. We sat at the bar and the bartender Chris was very nice and answered all our questions. I had the mussels appetizer with artichoke hearts. All I can say is DELICIOUS. Crusty bread to soak in the juice, plump mussels, sweet artichoke hearts, scallions. I didn't even finish it and had to take it back to our hotel y husband loves lobster mac and cheese so he tried the scallop mac and cheese. He said it was the best thing he has ever had. He even ran his finger in the empty bowl to get a last taste of the sauce. Then he has the shrimp and grits. That was creamy, cheesy grits with perfectly grilled spicy shrimp. Need I say more? Whatever you do, leave room for dessert. We shared the cheese cake chimicharo and the beignets with three sauces. The vanilla sauce was the best. We are definitely going back.
Had the Shrimp and grits appetizer- O M G!!!
Also loved the tortillas cheese cake - yummy!
This place is good!
What a great last dinner in Montauk. My friends are hard to please when it comes to dining out and we were all thoroughly impressed. Boyfriend got the lamb chops and almost kicked the plate clean. I did the same for the jerk striped bass and our friend guzzled down a good 25-30 mussels. The service was great and the ambiance is impeccable. 6
Minute walk from the born free. I have literally
Nothing bad to say about Muse .
Excellent food and service. We will definitely come back. Cant beat happy hour at the bar with live music!
Muse is a rather new restaurant, their first season open and overall I was impressed.
After having 815 reservations at Harvest- waiting 30 minutes and no end in sight, we walked to Muse.
I had considered going here in the first place- but the way the menu read was awkward. Wordy and strange. Font doesn't match atmosphere or their logo at all. Menu does not set the stage for $$$$ pricing or how good the food is... This is the only drawback I can see with this place.
Staff was SUPER friendly and attentive. Our waitress was great and support team always smiling!!! Place is beautiful. Cocktails and wine yum and food was delicious!!!
I was surprised there was no pasta offered for a main course. But we found some delicious options and enjoyed. The fried oysters beyond delicious and wonderful scallop entree. The pea pure was amazing.
All and all great place to have wonderful food.
This place is expensive. Now once you get that out of the way the place is a five star restaurant no doubt about it.
Great atmosphere- the interior is very nice and it has an outdoor vibe without actually having to sit outside. Great mood lighting ties it all together. It did get a bit noisy around 9pm when the place was packed. Mainly due to a large table of people enjoying several bottles of delicious wine.
Spectacular Service- Our waitress was very friendly and very patient even though she was servicing many tables. Was also very patient with our ordering and multiple attempts at ordering.
Fantastic Food- the food was terrific. I had the striped bass which was some of the best prepared fish I've had out here. My girlfriend had the cod which was also terrific and tasted extremely fresh. We had a nice bottle of wine and it was the cheapest on the menu but still very good. We finished with vanilla ice cream with fresh fruit. Good size portions for everything. Did not walk away hungry.
We will back again for sure.
Went for some wine and apps. Ended up meeting and chatting with locals. A very nice bar with a fun crowd. Tread lightly and you will be rewarded. Will be back!
I had the pork chops and my husband had the burger. Both were excellent. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable and professional. Will definitely be back!
I love that this place stays open year round... even when everything is open in the summer muse is my first pick for food in Montauk. Never disappointed ! They had mushroom bisque and tempura cauliflower as their specials ... I couldn't decide what app to get so I got both and both were equally amazing. My boyfriend got the burger & fries and loved it all the way to the last bite. I had the osso bucco which was very good but I had to take some home because I filled up on apps.
The Muse is located in Downtown Montauk...Chris Monte, the bartender / manager, is always friendly and makes a good drink..........
Just delicious. From the bread to appetizers and main dish. We took the tuna and peppers for appetizers and the scallop and stick for main. All recommended
Excellent food. Beautiful ambiance. Love the Jamaican reggae, Manny. Good drinks. Very personable staff. I would recommend this place to everyone.
If your in Montauk or Sag Harbor it's a beautiful
dining experience. In a 48 hour period, I ate three
meals.
The salmon dinner as well as the the osso bucco
was simply delicious.
The service at both places was impeccable and my compliments to both managers Jill and Kevin.
I wish you would open a restaurant in Long Beach.
I love this place! My boyfriend and I sat at the bar and got some apps and drinks, everything was top notch. loved the music and the bartender was friendly. would def. go back!
We just loved it. It's clean, fresh and has a open floor plan. We went earlier (around 6) and that was great. The menu had many choices, and we wanted to try just about everything. We started with the lamb meatball as an appetizer (which was recommended and was delicious) and shared the paella for dinner as our main course. They double plated it and let us share, which was a perfect amount and left enough room for dessert. Glad we did because the rice pudding and the mini zeppolis hit the spot. We noticed they had a price fixed meal choice as well. We look forward to coming back here again!!
The food was amazing and it had a wonderful atmosphere. The entire staff was very friendly our waitress Bianca was very nice and the manager Kevin comes around to see how things are going I had the grilled pork chop & apple sauce over cabbage and carrot mixture it was just amazing. My wife had the Greek chicken piccata that was spectacular. The presentation of the The dishes was also first class The salads we had look like a work of art and they tasted as good as they look We are definitely coming back again. You must try this place if you were out in Montauk
One of the better scallop dishes I've had
What a great find. Server was so nice and accommodating! All 4 of us loved everything we ate: Mac n Cheese with Scallops, Salad, Burger, Pork Chops and Paella with black rice. Delicious! We all agreed, we'd go back in a second. Allergy friendly!
Amazing and by far the best restaurant in Montauk. Excellent food, generous portions, presented beautifully and friendly staff. And all the little things were great; nice decor and ambience, great bar area, and excellent bread and unique spreads to go with them. Can't wait to come back
Food was delicious. We got the shishito peppers and tuna apps, I got the steak and she got the scallop Mac and cheese. The donuts were great and the staff was attentive and polite. Also helped us pick places to go drink after. Pricey, but it's Montauk. A 'fancy' place for Montauk, but it still felt casual and easy. I would definitely return.
Stumbled across this place and made a reservation...two foodies for dinner. Jessica was our server and fantastic in every way. We had several small plates and focused on fish. Mom and I were blown away by every bite that was complex, flavorful, cooked to perfection, gorgeous and just plain fantastic. We were trying to discern the ingredients of each dish on first bite and were suprised at the unique ingredients of each plate. Jessica mentioned the Chef has an organic garden and uses as everything he grows as well as local ingredients. I asked if we could meet the Chef Martin if he had a moment and out he comes 10 minutes later. We chatted about his road to working at Muse, his passion, ingredients etc when he said he had to get back to the kitchen and work on the stuffed zucchini blossoms for next day special. I replied I was bummed we were leaving and would not be able to eat there next day. So, the Chef returns to the kitchen sends out a portion for us! Wow...he whipped the ricotta so it was light as a feather and combined with the other flavors we almost fell off our chairs. A perfect ending to a perfect meal. No need or room for desert. If I lived in Montauk I would eat there every week or more. One of the finest meals Ive had and I've dined in some of the finest restaurants around the globe. Don't miss Muse!!!
Excellent Sunday brunch experience! What a stunningly beautiful restaurant. I can't believe what they did with this space, I was almost sure it was a complete teardown of the previous restaurant, but the hostess insisted it was not. The only giveaway was the bathroom door, that's the only item I could find in the whole restaurant that looked like it wasn't brand new (of course, I notice that kinda thing).
Getting past the top notch makeover, let's move onto the food. First off, let me say that the myriad of new culinary choices in Montauk is overwhelming. One weekend is simply not enough time to sample everything; in fact, 4 of the 5 meals my wife and I enjoyed this past weekend, were at new spots. And if we use the Sunday brunch we ate at Muse as our barometer (and also trust that the Montauk location can keep up with the SH location we love so much), then we will need to spend some more time here - and definitely get dinner and drinks at the gorgeous bar.
I wholeheartedly enjoyed the omelet of the day, a Western. It was massively portioned, I didn't eat anything until dinner, and even then I was barely hungry. It was served with a huge portion of home fries and an English muffin. The cheese was fresh and melty, nice big chunks of ham and peppers, fluffy eggs. Not dried out but not runny or gooey. Just the way I like 'em. The coffee was delicious. Fresh and hot, served with steamed milk and every kind of sugar you want, including my personal favorite sugar in the raw.
My wife didn't like the first thing she ordered. Not a problem, they took it back, pulled it from the bill and immediately brought her something else. And she admittedly acknowledged that there really wasn't anything wrong with her first guess, it was just not quite what she expected. It was a grilled naan pizza with artichokes and hummus. I tried it and thought it was good, she was just expecting less hummus and more toasty bread, but rather it was like a pita. No harm, no foul, they replaced it with a bucket of wings and she was a happy camper. Even I managed to chow down on one, despite leveling my omelet minutes before. They were crispy and tender, as they should be.
The service was friendly, courteous and quick, neither my water glass nor my coffee were ever empty. And I've already made it clear how gorgeously appointed it is, and as with any good restaurant in a seasonal town, the outside covered patio seating is great. We will certainly be back to experience more of what Muse has to offer.
I've been trying to go to this place the whole summer, since July 4th weekend and finally came with my Mom last weekend (late August). This place is a complete winner compared to many other restaurants I've been to out in Montauk, claiming to have the BEST and freshest seafood. We sat outside near Budda Berry Frozen Yogurt - building is shared. Our waitress was also one of the bartenders and was very helpful finding a German white wine that went spectacularly well with our meal.
To start, we had the mixed seafood cake which was to die for. Great flavor, presentation and taste! They serve rolls with a few different butter pates in between appetizers and the main event. I ordered the Jerked Local Sea Bass, crusted with Caribbean spices and the fish cooked perfectly. Mom had the Tomato Crusted Scottish Salmon Scallopini which was mouthwatering. We tried both dishes and couldn't let any go to waste. A few things that was a bit disappointing included that the coffee was cold and it took over fifteen minutes to hunt someone down to get the check though it was not busy.
Our original plan was to go to Harvest but 90 minute wait for a bistro table was insane so our party of 4 decided to try Muse. It's a 5 minute walk down the block. Well thank God Harvest is so overrated and too busy. This place is great. Food was excellent and service was spot on. Zeppolis for dessert. Yes please. We will definitely be returning.
This place is definitely worth a visit if you are staying in Montauk.
The Muse is located near the Plaza, so while you don't get a view of the water, you do get easy access to the nightlife near Town after your meal. My wife and I ate outside on the sidewalk patio, the servers were generally attentive and they easily accommodated us given that we had a baby stroller.
The food was solid. I had the lamb meatball to start. It was juicy, flavorful, and was a good portion for a starter. She had the tuna poke, which was the right combination of sweet and savory. For dinner, my dish was definitely better than hers. I had the seafood paella and it was phenomenal. The rice was moist and it was full of seafood. It was an expensive dish, but worth the price in my opinion. She had the pork chop. We found it to be bland. But, the dish came with these truffle polenta fries, which were amazing. The fries save the dish.
If you come here, I think you are better off ordering seafood than meat.
We ate here for dinner last night.. The decor is fresh and the staff is very welcoming - loved the lights with the old fashioned bulbs. I had the pork chops, they were unlike any pork chops I've had before - thin cut, but full of flavor! My boyfriend had the swordfish and had nothing, but good things to say about the Cajun flavor. The drinks were made well - we tried their rum punch which came served in a mason jar with fresh fruit. Finished with the zeppoles that came with three dipping sauces. We will definitely be back on our next trip!
I took a last minute getaway to Montauk by myself and with my one night dinner choice, I couldn't have been happier it was spent at Muse @ the End. When I first walked in, I admittedly felt the warm/friendly atmosphere and was welcomed from the staff and General Manager Kevin Gomez. I decided to go with the Prix Fixe Menu (Three Courses for $30) You can't beat that! I choose the Greek Lamb Meatball for the appetizer, Pork Chops and Apple Sauce for the entree, and if I somehow still had room for dessert I relived my childhood with Grandma G's Zeppoles. With each bite, you felt the love that when behind each dish. When you find a hidden gem in Montauk, your entire experience changes! Make sure to add this restaurant to your Montauk itinerary.
Laid back vibe with great food. Had the lamb meatball to start which was very tasty. For dinner I had the vegetarian which was really good although I'm glad I had an appetizer because the portion wasn't too big. My fiancee had the pork chop which he enjoyed a lot. Overall really good and I would definitely come back.
I passed by when I was exploring the area. Seeing the menu with a prix fixe menu, and knowing where it was, I decided to have dinner here. I was seated next to the most annoying couple who acted like ordering food was buying a house, but that's another story. They have a 3 course prix fixe menu for $30. Starter, entre, dessert. Can't really go wrong when everything is pretty pricey. I chose Greek lamb meatball as my app, Tomato Crusted Scottish Salmon Scallopini for entree, & zeppoles as my dessert. Meatball was great, tender and tasty. Salmon was very good although I didn't really get the tomato encrusted part. It was very fresh and well cooked salmon. The side it came with was a star on its own. It consisted of brussel sprouts, white beans, and other stuff. It was sooo delish. The zeppoles had 3 dipping sauces, caramel, raspberry, and vanilla. Fave was vanilla. Yummo. Everything was great and the staff was friendly. Loved my waitress. Great deal and great food. Will definitely return if I'm in town.
Went on a Tuesday evening in the summer and it was easy to get a reservation. Service was friendly and the food was tasty and original. Especially recommend the Indian spiced sea bass and lamb meatball.
Great food, really awkward service! There was ONE server for the entire place while it appeared they had one food runner for the entire place and a bunch of other staff solely responsible for filling your water glass, bussing and resetting the tables, clearing the plates etc. but none of those staff members would actually speak to you? Very odd. If they weren't clearing tables or filling glasses they were all awkwardly standing by the bathroom staring into the dining space. The server and food runner were friendly it was just really strange to have so many staff members with only one serving/taking orders for food and drinks/running drinks to the entire restaurant? The food was impeccable I must say! The cod was absolutely delicious and the chocolate dessert was to die for! We would go back for the food but we hope the service dynamics shift a bit so you don't feel like your just being stared at all dinner by a handful of people that seem bored and not very happy to be there unless someone needs water or a table leaves, even then they don't seem very happy to be there.
One of my new favorite restaurants! From the manager to hostess, to the server, and, of course the food! Oh yeh, and the watermelon mojito! Indoors or out, the swordfish, and the Indian spiced sea bass are fabulous! A great wine list and always wonderful vibes!
